Stryker’s “Record of Officers and Men of New Jersey in Wars 1791 – 1815″ shows a William Boyd that deserted Captain John Scott’s company in October 1813, but returned to duty in Captain White Young’s company on 31 December 1813. The same record shows that William BOYD’s father-in-law Anthony DOUGHERTY was already part of Captain White Young’s company as of December 31, 1813…and that he died on that day.
